Minutes and credits
How minutes and credits are counted, and what happens when you hit your limit.
Free trial and plan minutes
Every new account starts with 10 free minutes, one time. A monthly plan adds an allowance that renews each month:
- Starter — $19/month, 180 minutes.
- Pro — $49/month, 600 minutes.
Unused plan minutes don't roll over to the next month.
How usage is counted
A transcript is charged by its length, rounded up to a whole minute, once it finishes. Generating an AI summary uses 2 minutes each time. If a job fails, the charge is refunded — see When a job fails.
Credits
Credits are the pay-as-you-go option: $0.25 per minute, bought in bundles. They never expire, and they're only used after your monthly allowance runs out.
- 40 minutes — $10
- 100 minutes — $25
- 200 minutes — $50
- 400 minutes — $100
When you hit your limit
Once your allowance is used up and you have no credits, VocaFlow won't start a new transcription — you'll see an "Upload limit reached" message instead. Upgrade or buy credits from the dashboard or Settings → Billing and you can carry on.
Existing projects and their transcripts aren't affected — you can still open, edit and export them.
